About Us
Shawn and Justin met at Penn State University in the fall of 1994. They adopted Nittany from the New Orleans SPCA in 1998, and got married in a small ceremony at a hunting lodge in central Pennsylvania in 1999. Here's a little more about each of them:
Shawn
Shawn is an attorney at Holland & Hart in Denver, Colorado, although she works from her home in Boulder. She practices construction and real estate law, and is thankful to have a reduced hours/work from home setup so that she can spend more time doing the things she loves. She enjoys working out at the Y, reading, hiking, traveling and watching Penn State football. Shawn grew up in Athens, Ohio, and has lived all over the country since then, including stints in State College, PA, New Orleans, Atlanta and Eugene, Oregon. She likes Boulder best of all.
Justin
Justin is a software developer for VisionLink Inc., a small company in Boulder that provides software as a service for non-profits in the area of disaster recovery and human services. He enjoys playing tennis, skiing, hiking, running, basketball, riding his Harley, playing his guitar and watching the Steelers win football games. He also enjoys harassing Shawn, yes, most of all. Justin has a degree in Electrical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and also a degree in computer science from the University of Oregon. Justin was born and raised in the Pittsburgh, PA area.
Nittany
Nittany is a 10 year old golden retriever. Her hobbies include laying in the corner covered in the drapes, chasing squirrels and distributing love to whoever happens to be in the area. Her favorite thing to do in the world is go on long hikes with her family. She's a very obedient and fun loving dog.
Lidya
Lidya will join the family on May 18, 2008, when Shawn and Justin travel to Ethiopia to meet her.
