Pro bono activities consist of participation in the domestic abuse program (sponsored by Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation), including preparation of petitions for protective orders and representation of clients at hearings for ex parte and final protective orders; training of summer associates for domestic abuse program; representation of domestic abuse client in trial for contested divorce and custody; and participation in Grandparent Adoption Program.

PROJECTS

Software Methodologies class group project involved developing a web based carpool system for a
fictitious school district. An application was programmed in PHP to interface with the Google maps
API and a MySQL database. The database stored user information, allowing users to view the
locations and information of all users on the Google Map. Also developed a web based emailing
system to allow communication between users.
Developed a Java based database application to store and organize drink recipes and inventory. Used
Java based GUI (Java Swing) to interface with a team developed Java based drink recipe and
inventory tracking API. Project also involved extensive documentation and requirements analysis,
project management and planning. Used skills learned in user interface class to develop a consistent,
and comprehensible designed GUI that met the usability requirements.


WORK EXPERIENCE

Process Control Corporation Atlanta, Georgia
Electrical Design Engineer, 6/99 – 6/05

Design Engineer for the plastics machinery industry. Key responsibilities included programming of
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) for vacuum loading
systems. Performed research, development and design of electrical control panels for plastic
grinding, blending and refeed machinery. Responsible for making sure panels met Underwriters
Laboratory and National Electrical Code standards. Performed drafting of electrical interconnection
diagrams using AutoCAD 2000 for customers' installation of equipment. Helped service department
with customer issues involving machine installation. Performed designs using company database
(Fourth Shift). Also worked with production department on testing of new designs.


Keystone Engineering
Harvey, LA
Electrical/Instrument Engineer, 1/97 – 5/99

Electrical/Instrument design engineer for offshore oil and gas industry. Worked as consultant on
projects for several companies including Shell Oil Company, Exxon Oil Company, CNG, Ocean
Engineering and Chevron. Responsibilities included the design and layout of AC and DC systems,
motor control centers, panel boards, navigational aids, and UPS systems for offshore oil and gas
platforms. Design work also included 24 VDC solar powered systems used to power PLC, platform
lighting and navigational aids. Responsibilities also included interpreting PLC programs to analyze
existing process safety systems for future modifications. Performed MCC loading, voltage drop,
lighting, short circuit, and cable tray sizing calculations. Reviewed vendor drawings for generators
and switchgear. Responsible for designing panel layouts and control schematics to meet the National
Electrical Code regulations for solar powered systems.
